I started my weaving journey in 2014 at the Handweavers Studio and Gallery in London in a weekly weaving class. I was soon hooked, completing the Handweavers Diploma course in 2017. I mostly use my eight-shaft Ashford table loom and my four shaft Glimakra floor loom although I do suffer from shaft envy from time to time! I work with a variety of long-established weave patterns as well as experimental woven structures. Woven pieces can be decorative or express deeper feelings, and my work explores both aspects. I like both repeating traditional patterns while using more unusual yarns as well as exploring new materials and patterns.

Since completing the Diploma, I have a been a full-time artist with several solo and group exhibitions in Germany, Great Britain and Denmark. These include with the London Guild in 2017, and two exhibitions at the Handweavers Studio and Gallery, 2018 and 2019. I was one of the weavers commissioned by Dutch artist Sanne Vaassen to reweave the flag of the European Union for Vaassen’s solo show “Surplus to Purpose”, Unit 1 Gallery, London, 2019. I held a solo exhibition of my weaving, “Threads of life”, at Bistro Coccorico, Copenhagen, 2023, and I have contributed to group exhibitions in Copenhagen and the UK.

I am very happy to have joined the Seven Sisters Handweavers, a group of women who all graduated from the Handweavers Studio in London. We had a very successful exhibition at the Whitchurch Silk Mill in 2024. I love exchanging knowledge and project ideas with other weavers as well as textile artists and I am looking forward to more joint projects and exhibitions in the future.

I am also a happy member of the London Guild of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers and Weben+ in Germany.
